Internship Opportunities for Undergraduate and Graduate Students in Technical Translation Services Industry

Language Scientific is a Boston, Massachusetts-based translation company. We specialize in technical translation, software localization and interpreting services primarily for companies in the Technology, Engineering, Pharmaceuticals and Clinical Research industries. We offer translation services in over 215 languages, with the majority of our work focusing on technical and medical translation between English and French, German, Spanish, Japanese, Chinese and Korean.

We have three ongoing Internship Opportunities for college and graduate students:

Language Scientific internships are paid and are available for Summer, Fall or Spring semesters. All internships must be located at our corporate headquarters in Medford, MA. Language Scientific offers no remote internships.

Marketing Internship Description

Language Scientific, a leading provider of technical and medical translation services in the United States, is offering a challenging internship in our Marketing Department. The successful candidates will participate in a broad range of marketing activities, including:

  • Participating in the development and writing of marketing materials
  • Preparation of proposals for submission to corporations and government agencies
  • Research on specific market segments to determine their need for technical and medical translation services
  • Planning and executing new marketing programs, including measurement of results
  • Creating and managing a business blog

Language Scientific marketing interns will work closely with the VP of Sales and Marketing and other senior staff on a daily basis, offering substantial opportunities for professional development in addition to the experience of working on specific projects.

This is a hands-on position offering the successful candidates front-line experience in the development of a growing sales and marketing department for a leading company in the exciting field of translation services for international business.

Qualifications for the Marketing Internship

Qualified candidates will be seniors or graduate students in business, writing, or marketing degree programs. You will be highly creative, have excellent written communication skills, and be able to work independently. You will enjoy contact with people, and be both willing and able to make the case why Language Scientific is a resource to be considered by corporations in need of specialized, technical translation services. This is a chance to make an impact, as well as an impression – the work you provide will directly influence the way in which Language Scientific represents itself to a broad range of international markets.

We expect a commitment of 10 – 20 hours per week during the Fall and Spring semesters, and 30 – 40 hours a week during the summer for a minimum of 3 months. Potentially, regular employment may result from exceptional performance. US and international students are welcome to apply.

Translation Operations Department Internship

Language Scientific, a leading provider of medical and technical translation services, is offering a challenging internship in our Operations Department. Significant growth in Language Scientific’s business has given us the opportunity to structure positions in which the successful candidates will participate in a broad range of production activities, including but not limited to:

  • Recruiting, qualifying and managing the testing process for prospective translators
  • Participating in coordination of complex translation and interpreting projects
  • Assessing documents and software

Language Scientific Production interns will work closely with the Director of Operations and other senior staff on a daily basis, offering substantial opportunities for professional development in addition to the experience of working on specific projects.

This is a hands-on position offering the successful candidates front-line experience in project management of translation projects for a leader in this exciting international field.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates will be seniors or graduate students in business degree or language related programs. You will be highly creative, have excellent organizational skills and be able to work independently.
