Russian And Spanish Label Requests Show Double-Digit Decline Nationwide

The demand for pharmacy label translations in the United States continues to evolve in similar fashion to the demographic and macro trends of the country, with European languages showing notable growth while Spanish-language requests experience a sharp decline. According to RxTran’s latest analysis, German-language pharmacy label requests have grown by 180% year-over-year, leading the charge among European languages.
Following German, Polish (70.68%), French (68.87%), Greek (46.10%), and Portuguese (42.96%) round out the top five European languages experiencing significant growth in Q1 2025 vs. Q1 2024. In contrast, Spanish-language requests have dropped by 43.82%, marking a significant shift from previous years. Russian-language demand also saw a decrease, falling 10.05% over the same period.
This rise in demand for pharmacy label translations from five major European languages may be in part attributed to shifting immigration patterns and evolving business ties, particularly with countries like Germany, Poland, and France.

The decline in Spanish-language requests could be an important plateau in Spanish-speaking immigration trends, and a growing prevalence of bilingualism within established Hispanic communities. The drop in Russian demand surely reflects broader geopolitical factors and migration shifts away from Russian-speaking regions.
