Afrikaans Label Requests One Of A Select Few Languages Experiencing >100% Growth Across The USA

The Proprietary Database Of RxTran Data Also Shows That Burmese, Indonesian, Estonian And German Are Experiencing > 100% Growth Over The Same Period

Boston, MA – Tuesday, April 15th, 2025. RxTran, the multilingual prescription labeling division of Language Scientific, is proud to announce the fourth of our exclusive data insights on behalf of the Limited English Proficiency (LEP) population. The U.S. Census Bureau has previously reported that more than 350 languages are spoken in the United States, with nearly one in five people speaking a language other than English at home.

In August 2024, RxTran launched an education-focused initiative with the goal of creating awareness of what’s important to LEP patients from a medical perspective. Read our initial press release.

The second analysis of RxTran’s LEP pharmacy label translation database was published in October 2024.

The third release from the RxTran LEP pharmacy label translation database was published in February 2025.

Fourth Round Of Data — Languages Experiencing > 100% Growth Nationally

An analysis of the proprietary pharmacy label-based data, collected by RxTran in January and February 2025 across the USA vs. the same period in 2024, showed > 100% growth in pharmacy label requests for the following languages:

  1. Burmese (343% growth in pharmacy label requests in Jan/Feb 2025 vs Jan/Feb 2024)
  2. German (314% growth in pharmacy label requests in Jan/Feb 2025 vs Jan/Feb 2024)
  3. Indonesian (241% growth in pharmacy label requests in Jan/Feb 2025 vs Jan/Feb 2024)
  4. Estonian (213% growth in pharmacy label requests in Jan/Feb 2025 vs Jan/Feb 2024)
  5. Afrikaans (149% growth in pharmacy label requests in Jan/Feb 2025 vs Jan/Feb 2024)
