Supermarket Chain Implements RxTran’s Label Translation Service In-Line With The Affordable Care Act
Meijer Selects RxTran To Support Limited English Proficiency Customers Across All Their Pharmacies
Boston, MA — Wednesday, November 12th, 2025 — RxTran, a division of Language Scientific, announces that Meijer, a Michigan-based supermarket chain, is utilizing RxTran’s prescription label translation services to support their diverse Limited English Proficiency (LEP) customer base.
With nearly 300 stores across the Midwest with Pharmacies, Meijer sought a solution that would ensure language accessibility in-line with the Affordable Care Act. RxTran’s translation platform was selected for its ability to deliver accurate, multilingual prescription label translations and its seamless integration with Meijer’s existing pharmacy management system.
Dan Andersen, Pharmacy IT Manager at Meijer’s Michigan headquarters, said, “We were looking for a translation service for SIG’s that print on our pharmacy labels.” SIG is a commonly used healthcare term that refers to the directions provided by the healthcare provider to the patient regarding how to take a prescribed medication.
The ease of implementation was a key factor in the decision, as RxTran was already integrated with the pharmacy management system used to manage Meijer’s pharmacy operations. “RxTran is fully integrated with the PBX pharmacy management system used by Meijer and many other Pharmacy chains across the United States.” said Sharon Blank, CEO of RxTran and Language Scientific.
