Secure, On-Time Medical Package Translation for Endpoint Adjudication
A top-10 pharmaceutical company needed to centralize the translation of Medical Packages during global clinical trials. The project involved translations from dozens of languages into English and required a partner with deep endpoint adjudication expertise.
The client turned to Language Scientific because of our extensive experience in Endpoint Adjudication, with more than 100 million words translated in this highly specialized area.
The Problem
The client’s previous translation provider was not meeting the standards required for this high-stakes sector. Slow turnaround times and poor translation quality created operational risks and delays.
The client also needed a reliable way to prevent breaches of personal information. Most of the Medical Packages were scanned PDFs containing handwritten notes, which made the project even more complex. Many scans were unclear, and the handwriting included scribbles, shorthand, and medical abbreviations that had to be accurately deciphered before translation.
The challenges included:
- Slow turnaround times from the previous provider
- Poor translation quality in a high-stakes clinical trial setting
- Risk of breaches involving Personally Identifiable Information and Protected Health Information
- Scanned PDFs with unclear handwriting, scribbles, shorthand, and abbreviations
- The need to keep the project moving without compromising medical accuracy
