Ensuring Medical Accuracy Through Expert Translation Review

Why Language Scientific?

The American Spinal Injury Association (ASIA) is a global, non-profit medical association dedicated to advancing standards, best practices, and research in spinal health and spinal injury care. As a membership-based organization, ASIA regularly produces highly specialized medical content intended for international audiences.

Historically, ASIA relied on its member physicians to translate materials for regional use. However, to ensure consistency, accuracy, and medical validity across languages, ASIA sought an external partner with deep medical expertise to review and validate existing translations. Language Scientific’s subject matter expertise in medical translation made it a trusted partner for this critical work.

The Problem

ASIA needed to ensure that translated versions of its research articles and clinical standards were medically accurate, precise, and suitable for global publication. The challenges included:

  • Reviewing translations created across multiple regions and languages
  • Ensuring accuracy and consistency across multilingual research materials
  • Maintaining confidence that published content met the Association’s quality standards

Because these materials are used by medical professionals worldwide, accuracy was not optional, it was
essential.
